In ancient time people in India use to exchange their products like they keep their products like milk, grains, fruits, in market , if any one want them they go to merchant , they will make deal i will give some gold you give me your food like that they will exchange goods,
later years passed on they used coins to cell their cows, and horses,mostly they uses copper and silver coins like that history of coins started
Coinage of India, issued by Imperial dynasties and smaller middle kingdoms of India began during the 1st millennium BCE, and consisted mainly of Copper and Silver coins in its initial stage
The Indus valley civilisation of Mohenjo-Daro and Harappa dates back between
2500 BC and 1750 BC.
c.324 - 301 BC Chandragupta Maurya ruled India at this time King Alexander attacked India
when Alexander in India he used these coins
Asoka, Indian emperor (c.273–c.232 B.C.) of the Maurya dynasty
